A Bit About Me
I have created my own personal blog to share my personal passions of literary works and to facilitate and recommend to others how to navigate of the cosmic domain of both fiction and non-fiction works. It can be extremely intimidating browsing in Waterstones for the considered critically acclaimed novels, scouring somewhat unclear book reviews raving about intricacies of narrative genre and form, leaving you unsure and unfulfilled with the novel you hope to read. Too often is the case with online reviews also, and you are left without any real key information as to what the novel entails, what the author intends and truly what you are taking away from the book. I want to change this. For me, so much of conversations about novels has become dominated by plot lines and character happenings and much less about authorial message and the total immersion within themes, motifs and specifics. Furthermore, I want to provide unsure readers with an informative, useful and ultimately enjoyable blog and/or critical review of my own personal favourite books that is accommodating of their own literary preferences and gives them more than just the bare minimum information.
Whatever your purpose be, this blog will not only help you find the books you will enjoy, but to help you view literature in a regenerated way, outside character names or devices. I want to facilitate your emotions' evocation through literature, be that if it makes you weep or cry, or catapults you into an undiscovered realm of thinking and understanding. For me, books are the gateway to understanding the world we know, love and simultaneously hate. Whether you're using books as necessary escapism or for further knowledge on an unknown subject, this blog will help transport you to a more confident, assured and ultimately enjoyable way to explore literature.
I will be updating one novel a week as part of my series 'My Recent Recommendations' in the aim of building a conclusive and ever-expanding consulting blog to help all sorts of readers find what they are looking for in literature. So make sure you set your reminders for every Monday, which is when I shall be updating the blog and uncovering this week's latest recommendation!
